Art in the Huon Valley
A Tasmanian Creative Hub
At The Elm & the Raven, we welcomed over 100 visitors to our studio, from locals to travellers from across Australia. Many left with fond memories and original art. In Crabtree, I transformed a rustic shed into a cozy gallery space, displaying a full exhibition of my photography and digital art.
Alongside the major exhibition, there was limited edition nature art prints, greeting cards, and mini-prints for sale. I had planned to do some live painting, the steady stream of visitors kept me immersed in conversations about my work—there was little time to paint!

Huon Valley artists and Makers
Meet the Makers:
Emma Coombes, Photo based Artist
Emma is a photographer, digital artist and creator of the Elm & the Raven. She specialises in moody nature photography and Tasmanian Mythic Nature Art.
A mixture of fantasy and the magical energy abundant in our natural world, she uses her skills with the camera and digital illustration to bring illusions to life.
Luthier Extraordinaire
Sharing the studio space with luthier Lachlan MacLennan, an artisan with a deep background in timber boatbuilding and carpentry.
Visitors watched him craft beautiful mandolins and banjos. His intricate timber work sparked discussion.
Some keen musicians took the chance to play the finished instruments, adding music and life to the creative atmosphere.
