The Deadwood Collection | Sculptural beauty from the Bones of the Forest

Art drawn of dark landscapes and mythic forests

Tasmanian Mythic Limited Editions

A moody collection of art photography exploring the majestic form, mythic presence and power of bare trees.

Drawn from the haunting landscapes of Tasmania’s Huon Valley, Deadwood is a contemplative series that finds beauty in the bare, the broken, and the overlooked. Once towering trees now stand as silver silhouettes, figures of strength and stillness, rich with ecological and symbolic life.

This collection spans photography and composite illustrative works. Some images hold close to reality, while others lean into the fantastical, echoing the fairy tales and forest legends that have long been rooted in these ancient, shadowed woods.

In Deadwood, they are seen as visual poetry: strong lines, twisted forms, characters in a deeper narrative.

Eagle Moon - Limited Edition from the Deadwood collection by artist Emma Coombes at the Elm & the Raven

Exhibited in 2023 in the artist's debut solo show, the collection speaks to a fascination with the intersection of myth, nature, and form. A short artist interview is available on YouTube: Meet the Artist | Artbox Artists – Emma Coombes

Deadwood is for those who find wonder in shadow, story in shape and suggestion drawn from the skeletal trees that remain.

Created for lovers of the mysterious and the magical, The Deadwood Collection speaks to those drawn to dark romance and whispered stories at the edge of the woods. This collection belongs in the homes of dreamers, seekers, and storytellers—those who find meaning in moonlight, symbols, and shadows.

If your world leans toward the mythic, the poetic, the otherworldly, these works will meet you there. Rooted in wilderness and steeped in spirit.
